Thought I would put up some links, stuff I have found to be of use, and kind of where I started from. I am getting to be picky, after having used up some cash on some products that were of little use, I could just as well have tossed the money out the window. I think new affiliates get sucked into grabbing at anything that is written fairly well. Hype can work for, or against you.

The stuff that did not work I have let go, to my credit, having learned from being burned. It isn't that the products were bad, or would not work, or anything, they were just not for me. Research would have saved me some headache, and money. I have become wary, well, not wary, let me say that I am becoming a better shopper, and am working at the affiliate business, instead of just thinking that since I am one, that I will make some money at it. Work is work, and not all work has a positive reward at the end of it.

I do like what I am seeing from Rich Schefren. "The Attention Age Doctrine Volume Two" has been a very good read. I especially appreciate how he has brought to focus what it means to have a presence, or, to be responsible, as well as, profitable.

So many programs are labeled as being newsletters, or "info" products, when after getting them you find that there is little, if any "new" news, and the info of the product is merely an expensive, one time grab at your wallet. Frustrating.

So I very much am in search of a few real, and honest mentors. People who remember where they began their affiliate search, as a "newbie." I have found some, and will promote the product, as I feel there is genuine usability, and sincere promotion to it. It isn't solely about making money, and there are those who definitely have what it takes to be the mentor.

I am pretty sure that putting up links is ok, being new to this is no excuse for getting it wrong, especially after claiming to be doing the research prior to making a move...
I will see, I think. Anyway, time to take a break, actually "do" some research.

Whew! What a day. 4 kids, and all had dental appointments. I barely got them done before evening rush hour. Then the check valve on the sump pump goes out, and I'm mopping up, then repairing, for another two hours...
Busy, busy, busy...

All in all a pretty normal day, just a bit out of breath.

I am trying to set up a website, and have used the straight up method on the learning curve, having discovered that the only way to learn is to get dirty and do. I happen to be one those people who retain information better if I do it myself first. Like driving to someplace I've never been to, I can get there again without too much difficulty.

I am working at becoming an affiliate marketer, at "making money online" and have found the one truth that the "newbie" sees right away, is that everyone who you sign up for a newsletter from has an angle, and thinks of you as "fresh meat." Eager to get involved in the "scheme" of things, I guess I am somewhat fresh, having gotten a bite or two in the process.
So far it is going slow and steady. Looking for the quick an easy dollar will not be my path. Instead, I will do a bit of research, make a few irrational decisions on the way, no doubt, and see what can be done. The experience has been up and down, one day I think I am really on a roll, and the next day I see that the roll was downhill, so I have to get back up the hill in order to get over the next one, and so on.
The idea has been in my mind for some time to do this, so I took the plunge and offered my naivety to the sharks, most of whom have found me.
There are some lifeboats out there, as well, and I am swimming toward them now, hoping like crazy that they aren't filled with more greedy buggers. Any way, my first blog isn't going to make any rave reviews, and I cannot seem to remember any of the witty things that I thought of earlier, so I will just let this be it, and say hi, late, and thanks for reading this, if in fact you are reading this, and it is not just me wondering if someone will read this.
My blogging experience is zilch, first timer, so I hope to get feet wet, then get on with it. I do have some thoughts about a few things, so I will unscatter them and gather them into some semblance of order, then make up for lost time. I do like to write stuff.
